Neighborhood Christian Learning Center emphasizes a developmentally appropriate curriculum for all age groups. We believe that young children learn best through concrete play experiences that are individually appropriate. Each day, children explore and learn through circle time, story time, center time and outdoor play.
We will also teach monthly Bible scriptures, the books of the Bible, Bible lessons and Christian songs. Older children and adolescents thrive when offered real life challenges by positive role models who encourage and challenge children to do their best. Your child’s progress will be monitored and documented in their Anecdotal Notes, Personal Profile and Portfolio.
Our overall philosophy is to integrate learning and development, creating a partnership between families and the NCLCD staff. Parents are welcomed to join in and support as we help your child reach their full potential.
In addition to concrete play, the alphabet and numbers will be taught daily and implemented in various activities throughout the classroom and curriculum. NCLCD goals for your child(ren) are as follows:
- Foster positive self-identity and sense of emotional well-being
- Develop social skills and knowledge
- Encourage children to think, reason, question and experiment
- Encourage language and literacy development
- Enhance physical development and skills
- Encourage and demonstrate sound health, safety, and nutritional practices
- Encourage creative expression, representation, and appreciation for the arts
- Develop social skills and knowledge
- Respect cultural diversity
