Enrollment
We accept children for enrollment from birth through 12-years of age. There are three steps of the enrollment process, which are outlined below:
Step 1:
School Tour and Meeting with the Director- This parent orientation allows the parent to view the programs, learn about Neighborhood Christian Learning Center of Dallas’ philosophy and program goals and discuss any specific questions and concerns. It is a time for parents to share with the director and teacher information about their child that will make the transition to school a successful one. It is also a time for you to familiarize yourself with NCLCD’s policies and procedures.
Step 2:
Payment of Registration and Reservation of Space- Payment (cash/money order/credit card only) of a non-refundable enrollment fee initiates the administrative enrollment process. For parents that receive tuition assistance through Child Care Group subsidies, the center must receive authorization of eligibility from CCA, which must include the start date, days and hours of care and co-pay amount if applicable. The enrollment packet is then given to the parent for completion.
Step 3:
Completion of Admissions Forms- All required forms found in the registration packet must be completed and submitted to the office before your child is officially enrolled at the center and accepted for attendance.
Registration
Registration begins with a non-refundable fee of $35.00 per child for all Private Pay parents. The registration fee is not applicable to parents receiving CCA subsidies. Registration fees must be paid in cash, credit card or money order. Checks will not be accepted as payment for the registration fee or as payment for first weeks tuition. The registration fee must be paid each time the child is enrolled.
Tuition
Tuition must be paid weekly before services are rendered. Payments must be paid on Monday in advance of the tuition period. Payments submitted this way must be made by credit card, check or money order, payable to NCLCD and may be placed in tuition envelopes and deposited ONLY in the payment drop box located next to the administrative office. All cash payments must be paid in the office where you will be given a receipt.
Late Fees
All tuition for the week is due by 6:00 PM on Wednesday. Payments made after the close of business on Wednesday are subject to a $20.00 surcharge added to the family’s account. If payment is not received by the close of business on Thursday, the family will be suspended for non-payment of tuition until all charges are paid.
Returned Checks
There is a $35.00 fee when checks are returned from the bank without payment.
Payments during Absenteeism and Vacations
The school operates on an annual budget based on an annualized tuition rate that is divided into weekly payments. We try to provide the highest quality program on a budget comprised on the lowest possible weekly rate. In order to do this, no credit can be given for absenteeism or vacations. Each family receives one (1) annual vacation week (January 01 through December 31), which will allow the child to be absent for 5 consecutive days without being charged the holding spot fee of $25. Requests for families to use this credit must be submitted to NCLCD in writing and signed by the parent or guardian prior to the absence.
Nutritional Policies
The Center serves breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack to the children. We are committed to serving fresh fruits and vegetables each day and plan meals that teach, by example, good nutrition to the children. All meals provided by the preschool are in accordance with the nutritional requirements set by the State of Texas and the United States Department of Agriculture. Monthly menus are posted in the classroom.
Rest-time
Each classroom has rest-time generally beginning at 12:30 PM. Some children sleep during this time, others do not. Our day is long, noisy and busy. We find all children benefit from a quiet restful break in the day. Although we encourage parent involvement throughout your child’s day, we ask that the hours for nap to observed and children are not to be visited during these hours unless they are leaving for the remainder of the day.
